Are you overbuilding before earning your market?

Revenue growth is tempting to tackle with complexity. More offers. More segments. More channels.
Yet the core mechanics are simple: price times quantity.
Everything else is how you earn the right to increase one or both.

Three disciplined moves before you expand too far:

1️⃣ Understand willingness-to-pay, not just costs
• Instead of starting with “What margin do we want?”, ask:
• “How does value show up for this customer segment?”
• Then test price boundaries with small, structured experiments, not guesses.

2️⃣ Clarify your best current segment
• Look at your data:
- Which customers buy most frequently or renew easily?
- Where is support friction lowest?
• Double down on the segment where your offer already resonates, before chasing distant markets.

3️⃣ Use targeted tests instead of full rollouts
• For new segments or premium versions, run controlled pilots.
• Limit geography, time, or audience.
• This lets you adjust the offer and message without heavy sunk costs.

Sustainable revenue growth is less about shouting louder.
It is more about placing smarter bets and knowing your market (KYM).
